In 2019, following the death of my best friend and husband, I took a long delayed trip to Colorado and treated myself to a workshop with the amazing Carol Nelson. She introduced me to mixed media on panel, using Golden acrylic products, stones, fossils, found objects and common construction materials like stucco patch, adhesive grout and more. I have since added Venetian Plaster to the mix. It's hard to tell in a photo just how textured these pieces are. They are fun and have been well received (currently there being none in the studio or Wild Hearts Gallery. The gallery below is a sampling of recent pieces. I've just completed a workshop I hope will help me incorporate some of my photography into mixed media work on plaster.
