IF YOU LISTEN QUIETLY, YOU CAN HEAR THE STORIES. There is a beauty and mystery to the abandoned places and old car and truck bodies one comes across on the caminos, callejones and foot trails. I grew up in an old mining camp in the Colorado Rockies in a 150 year old house. Knowing my grandparents and a great-grandmother who shared stories about the old days has certainly contributed to my interest in these places and instilled in me a love for stories. I'm never content to just capture the image; I need to know the history behind it. This relic was in Nine Mile Canyon in Utah, in an old homestead area we came across on the way to a petroglyph site. Images currently in the studio are listed below with sizes, prices and descriptions.
Abandoned

The abandoned hotel/bar/dance hall and free-range horse in Guadalupe, New Mexico are perfect subjects for someone who finds beauty in what most of the world has left behind. There are several small settlements in this area dating back to when the Rio Puerco was prime sheep grazing country, each typically settled by folks who were all kin to one another.
